After 12 hrs of travel, we made it into to Prague safely, then took off for Slovakia the next day. We spent a week there teaching english and basketball. During the week, we got to visit Bratislava and we got lost while driving on the way back... that was a nightmare... since none of us spoke fluent Slovak. We played indoor futbol, volleyball and ate some of THE most delicious ice cream I've ever eaten (which was about $1 a cone... love that exchange rate). We ate at the same restaurant for lunch all week and each day there was soup, first, then the main dish. The soup was quite interesting... well actually the first day it was quite normal chicken soup and then the questionable items began to appear. Pretty much, the second day was chicken liver soup, but it most definitely looked like something out of my cat's litter box... the next day was hotdogs, lots of hotdog grease and sauerkraut, Thursday was a bit normal, chicken broth with a hint of liver and friday was probably normal cause I really don't remember it...ha. Oh, and for the main dishes it was either chicken and rice or fried cheese and fries or chicken and rice or chicken and rice... luckily I love chicken and rice... but I'm not a big fan of the fried cheese.
I hate goodbyes and Saturday was a tearful day, parting with new, wonderful friends... but we left knowing that we always had a place waiting for us. There are pictures coming, after some homework...
